Investment Choices:

The TSA, or 430b, is a supplemental savings program available to educators, hospital employees, and employees of non-profits.  Other employer plans include 401k, Profit Sharing, Stock Options, etc.  Such employer plans allow you to save for retirement on a pre-tax basis and defer taxes on investment growth until distribution.

Your choice of investments include:

  1. Mutual Funds
  2. Variable Annuities
  3.  Fixed Annuities

Each of these investment choices has advantages and disadvantages.  Choosing the right investment or combination of investments for your Retirement Nest-egg is the key to your successful savings plan.  The suitability of investments is based on many factors.  Among these are:

  1. Time left until retirement.
  2. Ability to tolerate the ups and downs of the stock market.
  3. How much additional money you will need to meet your expenses.
  4. How much you can afford to save.

Your retirement savings can take on many forms:

Annuities (Fixed, Index or Variable)

      1. IRA
      2. Roth IRA
      3. Stocks/Bonds
      4. Life Insurance
      5. Real Estate

Which types of accounts may be best for you?  What are the limitations and the benefits of each type?  How can I be sure that I am doing the right thing for my situation? These are questions we help our clients with every day.
